There is a new whitepaper over at HPC Gridware about Qontrol, the web based admin console for Gridware Cluster Scheduler. The scheduler offers a depth of control other workload managers miss, but mastering it traditionally means digging through text based configuration and man pages. Qontrol changes that: a single binary web console showing the whole cluster configuration in one view, with changes applied live.
Through its built-in MCP server it also connects the cluster to AI assistants: Claude and others can inspect configuration, jobs, and logs and answer questions like "why is this job still pending?". Read-only, authenticated, fully on-premises.
